The Youth Services festival a key part of Army v Navy rugby

The Army v Navy Match has supported Youth Rugby since the 1990s when it partnered with the RFU to host the Emerging Schools U12s tournaments.  Those tournaments created an enduring legacy and allowed the emphasis to evolve and move towards promoting youth rugby in a Service orientated environment.  Though the format has changed, the Army v Navy Match committee continues to be fervent supporters of youth rugby and the promotion of the values of rugby football.

In 2022 the festival consisted of the two Service clubs, Devonport Services RFC and US Portsmouth RFC facing the challenge of two Army Cadet sides; the Cornish Crusaders and the Wessex Warriors.  The four team festival was the first time Army Cadets teams had competed as part of the Army v Navy Match and who knows where this spark of encouragement may lead........
