Charity of the day

We are delighted that Combat Stress are the chosen charity of the day for the 2019 Army Navy Match.

We’re honoured to be the chosen charity of the day for the Army Navy match in 2019, our centenary year. With more than 80,000 people expected to attend, it will be a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of veterans’ mental health and the difference our work makes.

We provide a range of services to veterans on the phone, online, in the community and at our treatment centres. When a veteran turns to us for help, we work with them to develop a programme of treatment and support to best suit their needs.

We know that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So we’re on a mission to help former servicemen and women tackle the past and take on the future.

Every penny raised at the Army Navy game will help us continue to provide life-changing treatment to veterans with mental health problems.

"Thanks to Combat Stress I’ve got my life back."

Army veteran Andy received treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in 2017. Here’s what he has to say about how we helped him:

“Before I contacted Combat Stress I was struggling with anxiety, depression, anger and guilt. It was frightening not knowing what was happening to me. Combat Stress helped me to understand that I had PTSD and gave me the tools to manage my symptoms.”

Veterans and their families can call the Combat Stress 24-hour helpline on 0800 138 1619 for free, confidential mental health advice or visit combatstress.org.uk.
